I know that I am resilient and so are you. We have proven it to ourselves time & time again & again & again. That ability to bounce back, as it were, but right now, the bounce has gone out of my bungee. Y’all feel me? I know most, if not all of you are feeling it, on some level/ many levels.
It has been a H-E-DOUBLE HOCKEY STICKS (to the kidneys, gut, head, pretty much every body part) year.
Sometimes, resilience means stretching to the very limits, and what seems like beyond. It’s exhausting. It feels untenable, like we will surely snap. But, oh my loves, my sweet loves, we are NOT rubber bands. Our tensile strength is being tested, and, paradoxically, strengthened.
So, please, get your bare feet or your booted up feet on the ground, deep breathe fresh air into your lungs.
Take those moments to rest, scream, sing, dance like a mindless fool, around your living room/ yard/ block. Release that lactic acid. Loosen those muscles, all of them. They’ve been wound up so tight. Loosen them. Rest them. They will bounce back and grow with you.
Bounce with me, into 2021 & on & on, stronger, wiser, with compassion.
xö,
Karin
