Arrow Spine with Moth Pelvis Beadwoven Art Necklace
Arrow Spine with Moth Pelvis Beadwoven Art Necklace
Lepidopterology meets Human Anatomy meets Beadology and the result is one seriously fun piece of Exclamation Jewelry/ Wearable Art.
A vision in winter whites and gold.
It all starts at the “Hips”: an Arched Hook Tip Moth (Drepana arcuata). An artistically rendered specimen, this natural beauty was hand-beaded using hundreds of tiny glass Delica beads for the wings in a pleasing palette of snow, cream, & bone whites, with stripes and patches of gold, copper and tawny. The body of the moth is represented by a quartet of luminous white Freshwater Pearls. The antennae are gold plated elm leaves.
The moth/pelvis is crowned with a halo of sweet, itty-bitty, Freshwater Seed Pearls.
The “Spine” is comprised of a procession of beaded arrows interspersed with lustrous white Freshwater Pearls. Each arrow/ vertebrae is individually bead-woven of glass seed beads in various tones of white with golden accents,
The necklace is a beaded rope comprised of a zillion (give or take) seed beads woven helix style for a strong, torsade-like silhouette. It fastens with an antique glass button and beaded loop closure.
Wear it with the butterfly in front, dropping down to your navel. Or down the back for a spine-tingling sensation in a backless dress ;)
