there is a crack in everything

that’s how the light gets in ~ L. Cohen

>>—->
The necklace begins with the heART, the perfect offering: Crazy Lace Agate beauty of red desert swirls and whirls, cracked through with shimmering druzy formations that capture and refract the light within.
A succession of bead-woven chevrons launch forward as from an archer’s bow*, to secure the heart below and betwixt your collarbones, suspended playfully from the bead-woven rope of a zillion (give or take) itty bitty seed beads in tones of sepia, rust, copper, oxblood, charcoal and graphite.

All this wonder fastens at your nape courtesy of a Victorian Perfume Button* with a butterfly motif.

*Perfume buttons were made in the U.S. during the early 1800s. An ornate brass overlay was backed by velvet into which a lady could soak droplets of her perfume oils.
It's said that during the Civil War, women would give their scented button to their soldier-man, and he would stitch it under his collar as a lasting reminder of her.

rope necklace: 17 1/2 inches
heart & arrow assemblage: 4 inches

druzy agate heart pendant: 2 x 2 inches

The Heart and Arrow assemblage is removable so that you may consider wearing it on another necklace, neck-ring or thin silk scarf. Or perhaps wear the beaded rope sans pendant as the whim may strike every now and then. Choices, versatility. romance and strength of spirit are yours my dear. xö

>>—->* arrow collection: inspired by ebb & flow, how the archer must pull the arrow back so that it has the momentum to launch forward
